one of the frustrating things about being aro is that like. you can’t prove a negative. so when someone is all “but you might find romance someday!!” it’s like. yeah, okay, maybe. i can’t see the future. but listen. if my past behavior is any indicator, i shouldn’t be anywhere near romance. it is Not Fun, and i Don’t Like It.

“but you might kill someone someday!!” yeah, okay, maybe

lmao you ARE a serial killer, really, you just haven’t met the Right Person yet

Vijay Singh with the most outrageous golf shot the masters has ever seen. Ever.

G O L F W I T H O U T L I M I T S

I can only assume this is from some amazingly realistic looking sports anime because there ain’t no goddamn way that happened in real life.

I’ve definitely reblogged this before, but I just think it’s super cute because there are like “golf manners” where you’re not supposed to make a huge ruckus but like EVERYONE felt it warranted cheering because HOLY SHIT THAT WAS A GREAT SHOT.

how do you not hold your club above your head and hoot like a tusken raider after a shot like that

Anime Smartasses Be Like….

This is nothing but the truth.

I love how the camera moves during his explanation

This is also the problem with BBC Sherlock. This is exactly how he’d explain a situation.

The fact that L’s theme is playing the whole time is what sells it.

Meet 63-year-old Lyn Slater, who has, until recently, been an ordinary professor at Fordham University. One day she went to meet a friend for lunch outside the Lincoln Center during New York Fashion Week. Foreign journalists suddenly surrounded her, mistaking her for a fashion icon and attracting spectatorsIt was a defining moment that turned Lyn into an ‘Accidental Icon’. Her blog of the same name, inspired by the experience, soon began making international waves. She is now a public voice against ageism in the fashion industry and the world.

“Fashion and my style help me struggle against that invisibility that comes with age.“

She was once asked about the old notion of ‘dressing for one’s age,’ and her response was clear:

“We use language to control people’s behavior. This phrase is a way of putting older women in their place. I’m certain that if you feel comfortable in your own clothes, it’s completely irrelevant how old you are.”

revolutionary idea: pet ownership is not a human right.

cats scratch. dogs bark. certain rare pets are not adapted to living in a regular domestic setting. if your home is not suited for an animal to express their most basic natural behaviours or your situation makes absolutely predictable traits into dealbreakers, then you should not have that kind of pet. “but i want one” is not an acceptable excuse for owning an animal you can’t provide for.

This includes feeding them the diet they require, not the diet you think they should have because of your own moral beliefs.

Also: can’t afford the vet, don’t get the pet.

Yes yes and yes

Pet animals have a right to express natural behaviors and it is very unhealthy to try to suppress these without providing an acceptable outlet, but there are boundaries that come with being in proximity to other humans, who have the right not to be disturbed by your pet.  Be considerate of others.  You have an obligation not only to your pet, but to the people and animals who share your neighborhood.  Do not allow your pets unlimited unsupervised access to outside, whether cats or dogs. Both are nuisances to humans and threats to wildlife and to other pets. If you must let a dog run around outside to pee and wear itself out, fine, but train it not to nuisance-bark and if it poops on someone else’s property, pick it up promptly.  Do not let cats run loose outside at all. They are both predator and prey, and that will end poorly for a lot of animals, including, quite possibly, the cat.  Both can be poisoned, killed or injured by humans or other animals, get hit by cars, get lost or stolen.  I have had literally ALL of those happen to cats of mine (when I was a kid and had no say in whether they got to go outside or not, it was not my choice).  Loose dogs kill other people’s pets.  Had that happen too.

“Can’t afford the vet, can’t afford the pet” is fair enough, you should never get a pet without being able to pay for its basic needs, and for shots and neutering.  But please always remember that a lot of people acquire pets when they are more financially secure, and demanding that someone give up their pet because they have fallen on hard times is shitty.  Be kind and assume the best of people whenever you can.  Also, some pets wind up with unexpected needs.  These often make them difficult to re-home.  For instance, kidney disease.  Rehoming even young cats and dogs in renal failure is nearly impossible, but with support they can live comfortably and happily for a long time.  In those cases, supporting the owner, who did not know to expect something like that and is rightly unwilling to get rid of their friend because of it, is kinder to both pet and human.  And N E V E R suggest that a person put their pet down.  That is NOT your decision to make, EVER.

I hate this idea people have that if a parent walks in and turns off the tv while their kids are watching or playing something it’s evidence of some unhealthy attachment or addiction to technology if they get pissed off. If you walk up and slap a book out of my hand while I’m reading I’m going to have the same reaction, fuck off you’re not making some great social commentary you’re just being an ass hole.

If you slap a sandwich out of my hands and I get pissed it doesn’t mean I’m addicted to eating it just means I was enjoying something and then you had to be an asshole lmao
